Artist Statement

These drawings are part of the series Liminal Space, exhibited at the Bakersfield Museum of Art in 2019. These process-based works grew out of my experience of grief following the loss of my sister in 2015. Through organic imagery, erasure, and layered mark-making, I create ethereal, shifting spaces that reflect the fluid and nonlinear nature of mourning. The works explore absence, memory, transformation, and the uncertain space between loss and acceptance.
